What is Lip Blush?Lip Blush is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattoo procedure designed to enhance the beauty of the natural lip by improving the colour, shape and definition. This is achieved by depositing pigment in to the lip with a tattoo machine that uses very fine needles. Depending on a client's ideal results we can achieve a natural "lip tint" look or a more full coverage, "lipstick look".

Please note, to book this service you will be required to pay a deposit. This amount will be charged at checkout. The remainder of the fee must be paid on the day of your appointment.
-
How long will my appointment take?Your first Lip Blush appointment will take approx 3 hours. Touch up appointment will be approximately 2 hours, depending on individual results. A colour refresh will vary pending how much work needs to be done approx 2 to 3 hours.
-
How long does Lip Blush last?Every person's skin and lips are different. Lip blush results and retention will depend on your health, skin, aftercare and whether or not you attended your follow up appointments or colour refreshes. It is recommended to avoid exfoliant on the lips other than a sugar scrub. Smoking can discolour the lip tattoo, so this is something to also be mindful of. Always protect your lips from the sun with a UV protective balm if you are outdoors.

Does it hurt to have my lips tattooed? You may be a little uncomfortable at the beginning and very end of the treatment, however the pain is totally manageable as numbing is applied throughout the procedure. You've got this!
-
What can I expect after the treatment? There can be moderate swelling after the treatment. This amount of swelling is unique to the individual. This swelling will generally subside a few hours after your treatment, however it is not uncommon for your lips to remain slightly swollen for a few days after your appointment. During the initial healing period there may be mild flaking or scabbing. Do not pick the loose skin as this can damage the healing process and your colour. Allow the skin to come away on its own. You can expect the colour of your lip blush to fade approximately 60% from the initial colour once they have healed. It is normal for the colour to appear uneven at different stages of the healing process. Please be patient as this process takes up to 6 weeks. You will notice that your lips will be extremely dry for the first week after your treatment. Please keep up your aftercare and do not let your lips dry out. Moisture is your best friend during the healing process. Drink plenty of water.

I have dark/cool toned lips, can I get a lip blush? When you have melanin rich or hyper-pigmented lips, you will require a neutralisation colour correction first. Depending on the intensity of your lip tone, this may require multiple sessions. For all melanin rich and hyper-pigmented lips, you will need to contact us before booking and send a clear photo of your lips, along with a reference image of the colour you would like to achieve so that we can consult on the steps this will take to achieve. I will not be able to treat all dark lips this is why it is very important to send a clear photo before booking.

I have filler in my lips, can I still book a lip blush?Yes, yes, yes! Please just make sure that your lip blush appointment is at least 3 weeks apart from any other procedure.
-
I have had a cold sore before, can I still book a lip blush tattoo?Yes you can. Please take the below information very seriously and refer to the pre-care for cosmetic tattooing on my page for a more detailed description. We will not be able to tattoo over any active or healing cold sores. You must consult your primary physician prior to your appointment to receive antiviral medication and take as directed by your doctor. This treatment can trigger an outbreak if you carry the herpes simplex virus. An outbreak can alter the healed results of a lip blush tattoo. **Please note: some antiviral medication is available over the counter at a chemist, however, I strongly suggest that if you do suffer from cold sores to discuss the procedure with your doctor and to have a prescription antiviral medication that you take as directed BEFORE your appointment.

Help, my lip blush has faded, is this normal? When you have your lips tattooed the colour will be intense for the first few days. However, you need to be prepared to lose 50-70% of the colour after the first appointment. Lip Blush is not intended to replace lipstick. It is designed to give your lips a pop of colour. A lipstick look can be achieved by multiple appointments. Please discuss your expectations with me.
